Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz, co-founders of the venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), have made a significant financial contribution to support Donald Trump, donating $2.5 million each to the Right for America Super PAC. This was reported by Bloomberg, citing documents from the U.S. Federal Election Commission.
According to the documents dated October 15, 2024, Andreessen and Horowitz are listed among the donors, although the amounts are not specified. Information about these donations is also absent from the Super PAC’s website. At the time of publication, the entrepreneurs had not provided any comments.
Right for America is raising funds to support Trump’s presidential campaign. In July 2024, the a16z co-founders openly expressed their intention to vote for the Republican candidate on their podcast. “Many of my friends are likely to be upset by the positive things I’m saying about Trump,” Horowitz noted at the time, with Andreessen agreeing, adding that although he had previously supported Democrats, he now believes that the tech sector needs a Trump victory.
The entrepreneurs described technology as one of the “three pillars” on which “America stands,” along with military strength and the economy.
